Founded in 1987, City Center Properties develops and manages historic buildings with more than 225 apartments and lofts in several Cincinnati neighborhoods. CEO Chris Frutkin was an early leader in converting complex older buildings into distinctive spaces that balance architectural details and historic charm with modern finishes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One of his most recent conversions is the former W.J. Williams in East Walnut Hills. Chris purchased in 2014 and applied to designate the 52,000-square-foot building as a local historic landmark in 2016 to support redevelopment plans. The city's Historic Conservation Board voted unanimously to recommend both local and national historic designation on May 2, 2016. City Council gave final approval on local designation on May 29, 2016.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Thomas Emery's Sons, a leading nineteenth and early twentieth century real-estate developer in Cincinnati, designed and built two apartment houses in our portfolio: Maplewood and Delmoor Flats on Telford Street in . The firm built the first substantial apartment houses in the city, in addition to other buildings downtown, including and . Samuel Hannaford was reportedly the firm's initial in-house architect, designing several fashionable apartment houses, including the Lombardy (circa 1881) on West Fourth Street. The Emerys eventually reengaged their former builder, the Steinkamps, who designed dozens of apartment buildings most notably in Walnut Hills, Avondale, and Clifton.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
