📣The word is out!

We are beyond excited to announce that we have been awarded an $11.7 million tax credit from Ohio's Transformational Mixed Use Development Program for our Mercantile and Traction Block Redevelopment project! The project, which encompasses three nearly vacant buildings, could not happen without these tax credits and solidifies a nearly $132 million investment into our downtown urban core.

Upon completion, southeast of Fountain Square will be home to new apartments, a Kimpton Hotel, and 130,000+ sq. feet of commercial space. In addition to these amenities, Cincinnati’s beloved Mercantile Library will receive an expansion.

Model Group CEO, Bobby Maly, says this of the award, "It’s a big day for the center of our downtown. It’s a really big deal. Cincinnati didn’t win an award last time. This is a needle mover."

It’s ✨Tenant Tuesday✨ and we would like for everyone to meet our friend Topher!

📚After attending the University of Cincinnati, he now works as the Senior Marketing specialist for a consulting agency in Covington Kentucky.

🌆Topher fell in love with this unit when he saw it in Spring. “As a long time resident of Findlay Market, I was thrilled to not leave my favorite spot in the city. Not to mention, the neighbors are genuinely friendly, in the building and on the street!”

🎼Some of his favorite spots to visit are , and The Porch at . He enjoys going to to see the a few times a season as well! In his free time he dives into his piano compositions and most recently has joined the Young Professionals Choral Collective.

🥦From volunteering with to gathering resources for and , Topher is there to support his community. “[I] also can’t encourage residents enough to join OTR Community Council to ensure their voices are heard and the neighborhood grows to represent all residents.”

📣 Ground Breaking for McArthur Gardens!

MG is co-developing McArthur Gardens with Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH). The partnership will provide 32 Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) units to individuals experiencing homelessness in Chillicothe, Ohio.

There are currently zero (0) PSH units in all of Ross County, OH, and the need for service enriched housing is great. The community is beyond thrilled and Model Group is excited to be a part of this project!

✨Model Group Monday✨ time!!! Meet, Savannah.

She’s been with us for 5 years. Savannah shares “I started as a co-op when I was in architectural engineering school at , started as a superintendent, then a project engineer and am now am a project manager!”

A favorite aspect of her role is “seeing life and community come back to historic buildings that have been abandoned or run down over the years. I have had the opportunity to be around Findlay Market for a few years and it is so fun to see the community is thriving now.”

Outside of work, Savannah loves being outside with her dogs Topaz and Ollie. She, along with her husband David, recently started a garden and have plans for expansion! She also loves to spend time with friends and family, especially when they get to explore the new restaurants and shops of OTR.

Happy Tenant Tuesday!!

We caught up with our friend Vinny! Vinny is full of life, fun to chat with, and adds so much to our neighborhood. He works in video production and has his own business called ‘Vinny Smith Productions’. Take a look at our convo and see why we’re happy to have him as a MG tenant.

Q: Vinny, what do you love about the neighborhood?
A: So much! Love the walkability, all the places you can eat and drink at. My favorite places are right outside Findlay Market (.1855 & )

Q: Are you newer to the area?
A: Born and raised in Cincinnati, spent a lot of time in California, NYC, Atlanta, and I’m happy to be back home. I really love it here.

Q: Favorite parts about your MG unit?
A: I love the modern amenities, it’s smooth, comfortable, stops are close to Kroger and to my apartment- it’s all so convenient!

Q: Anything fun you want to share with your fellow neighbors?
A: I was a stand up comedian for 15 years all over! I’m just happy to be here and happy to have nice neighbors.

✨Model Group Monday✨ time!!!

We have a special introduction for our newest hire, Tyler!! We are thrilled to have her on our team as a leasing specialist. 🏢

With just over a month of experience now, her favorite tasks are apartment showings and connecting with tenants. Tyler shares “I love not only meeting new people but also helping them find their homes and being able to share my love for Cincinnati with them!”

When not in the office, Tyler spends her time as an avid reader, exploring Cincinnati, trying new restaurants, as well as spending time with friends and family. “I love being in nature, playing with my pug-niece Pickle, and finding new things to be grateful for every day!” ☀️

Back with another ✨Model Group Monday✨ feature! We caught up with Kelly, an executive assistant here at MG. On a daily basis, Kelly works closely with our executive members keeping them organized & because of that, her role impacts everyone!

Her work with MG actually started in 1998 when she was working for the company’s real estate legal counsel. Kelly states “I knew when I started working with the folks at Model in 1998 that I wanted to work for this company and in 2016 that dream became a reality.”

She’s currently excited to be working on the MG company picnic! “There will be fishing, a co****le tournament, boat rides, face painting, a bounce house and hay wagon rides. It is so great to see everyone having fun together and enjoying a day with their families.” Kelly says. 🎣🛶

In her free time, Kelly enjoys weight training, playing competitive sand volleyball, kayaking, camping, watching FC Cincinnati games and snow skiing. With her love of plants and flowers, she’s also recently dipped into the world of propagating plants to share with family and friends! 💪🏼🏐⛷🌸

Fun fact about Kelly: she’s no stranger to getting her hands dirty. She worked as a technician in a body shop for two years!! 👩🏻‍🔧

These pictures were taken almost exactly 5 years apart – 2017 to 2022 – this building was part of the Market Square II project that included a total of 13 historic rehabs, transforming the Elm side of Findlay Market.

It’s ✨Model Group Monday✨ again. Everyone, meet Kevin! He is a newer addition to MG, having just started on July 13th as the Vice President of Construction.

Diving in head first, Kevin is working on projects in the Columbus market as well as some select projects here in Cincy.

With over 20 years of experience in a number of roles, Kevin had the privilege of working on notable projects such the Restoration and Renovation to Union Terminal, Revitalization of Newport on the Levee, and a number of Hamilton City schools.

Kevin lives in Ross, Ohio with his Girlfriend Lindsey and their blended family of 8 children! With that comes busy weekends with lots of activities while balancing his love of cooking, fishing, exploring new things in our great city, as well as weekend get-a-ways.

Fun fact: Kevin is heavily involved in planning and putting on their neighborhood 4th of July party with a big firework show to enjoy with friends and neighbors.
