Sometimes I wonder what my true life accomplishment is… and then I remember I’ve probably shoveled enough horse p**p to build a second Mt. Hood.

Forget Pilates. Forget CrossFit. Real homestead girls are out here doing wheelbarrow lunges in mud boots while emotionally bonding with a pitchfork at 7am. 🤠💩

People romanticize the homestead lifestyle until they realize ‘country living’ mostly means fixing fences, carrying feed, and moving 14,000 pounds of fermented horse opinions across an acreage before coffee.

Honestly though? Wouldn’t trade it. There’s something deeply healing about horses, land, hard work, and the kind of exhaustion you earn outside.

In reflecting about Hunting into entrepreneur of impacts competition, I realize some opportunities are presented to us so that we can see what we already have. I didn’t realize I had so much support, I didn’t realize I was as ready as I am. I didn’t realize I could ask for help and receive so much support.

I am so grateful that this competition showed me all of that in so much more. It opened doors, filled me with excitement and got me to stop dragging my feet on some things I had been doing for a long time. We raised hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for Jen youth, and that feels really amazing. Thank you to everyone who voted, both free and paid votes. Your support words of encouragement and motivation have done so much more than you could’ve ever imagined for me. This is only the beginning!

What started as an interest in a competition has lead me to engage my community in the knowing of a dream I have been quietly working towards for a while.
