The U.S. housing market is slowly balancing out, giving buyers more choices than they’ve had in years and in certain states, there has been a significant increase in inventory.

Top 5 states where more homes are landing on the market:
Nevada ➝ Homes for sale are up 52.9% from last year (the biggest jump in the country)
Maryland ➝ +48.2%
North Carolina ➝ +40.7%
California ➝ +36.5%
Arizona ➝ +36.3%

In July 2025, the number of homes for sale nationwide was up 24.8% from last year. This is the 21st month in a row with more homes on the market and the third straight month with over 1 million listings.

If you're struggling right now, don't worry.

We all are.

I slept in a car for a year after the 2008 crash.
