🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Never Forget.
25 years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11th and the countless families whose lives were changed forever.
I was 13 years old when it happened. I was getting ready for school when my neighbors called my Mom and told her to turn on the news. The towers had just been hit.
We watched in silence and horror, trying to comprehend what we were seeing.
When I got to school, hardly any of my classmates knew what had happened. Word quickly spread, and I remember the uncertainty and fear that seemed to fill the day. The classmates leaving early.
That night at dinner, I cried. I didn’t personally know anyone who had been lost, but I was devastated by the sheer loss of life.
Today, we remember the innocent lives lost. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members, and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
We remember the families who never got to say goodbye.
