It is with heavy hearts that Oliver Price & Rhodes announces the passing of our partner, Attorney Joseph A. O'Brien, on September 14, 2026.
Joe made partner at OPR LLP in 1979 and practiced law here for the rest of his life. An exceptional trial attorney, longtime Lackawanna County Solicitor, and General Counsel to numerous Catholic organizations in our community. He considered his partners at OPR LLP among his closest friends, a sentiment we return wholeheartedly.
Friends may call at Saint Paul Church, 1510 Penn Avenue, Scranton, on Thursday, September 17, from 3–7 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 18, at 10 A.M., also at Saint Paul Church.
Interment with military honors follows at Cathedral Cemetery. The Mass will be livestreamed on the Vanston and James Funeral Home page.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Barbara, and his entire family. 🕊️
