🌳💥 Ever heard of an “exploding tree”?

It’s real — and it happens in winter.
This isn’t lightning damage.
It’s freeze stress.
When temperatures drop fast, moisture inside the tree freezes and expands. Pressure builds… and the trunk can split with a loud crack — sometimes like a gunshot.
That long split?
That’s the tree tearing itself apart from the inside out.
Oaks, maples, ash, and fruit trees are most prone.
Nature is powerful… and a little scary sometimes 🤣❄️

Can you believe Christmas is only one week away?! We know you are busy and stressed, so take a little time for yourself this weekend. Get a glass of wine and some cookies at the The Book & Bottle Shop, or listen to some amazing music at the Alhambra Theatre or catch a movie at The Showbox Hopkinsville. Stop by Visit Hopkinsville for Alien Invasion Day, head down Ft Campbell Blvd for the BLVD Bash, check out all the stops on the Art Loop, stop by Jeffers Bend Environmental Center for the Hummingbird Fest and then top it all of downtown for the grand opening of the Downtown Entertainment District! AND THAT'S JUST A FEW THINGS HAPPENING ON SATURDAY! This town is amazing!! 👽🎨🍷🎼
