Hey Clarksville friends 👋 — winter weather is headed our way, and Middle Tennessee storms can turn fast 🌨️. A little preparation now can go a long way in protecting your home, your family, and honestly… your sanity 😅.
Before temperatures drop, take a few simple steps around your home. Let faucets drip 🚰 and open cabinet doors to help prevent frozen pipes (especially in older homes), keep your thermostat set to a steady temperature 🌡️ even overnight, and disconnect hoses while covering exterior spigots. If your home has a crawlspace, make sure the vents are closed to keep cold air out. It’s also a great time to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors 🚨 and replace batteries if needed.
Make sure your household is stocked with the essentials — food, water, medications, and pet supplies 🐾 — and have flashlights 🔦, batteries, and phone chargers ready in case of power outages ⚡.
🚗 Local reminder: Ice tends to hit Clarksville bridges and back roads first. If you can, limit travel during icy conditions and park vehicles away from trees or power lines to avoid storm damage.
As a local REALTOR®, I care about more than just buying and selling homes — protecting them matters too 🤍. If you need winterization tips, trusted contractor recommendations, or help prepping a rental or primary residence, I’m always happy to help.
Stay safe, stay warm, Clarksville 🤍
