I've walked through a lot of houses over the years, and there are certain things I notice almost immediately when I walk through the door.
And surprisingly, paint color usually isn't one of them.
I notice how the house flows.
Does the layout make sense for everyday life?
I notice natural light and how a home feels when you first walk in.
I notice how well the home has been cared for, including the little things that can sometimes tell you a lot about the bigger things.
I notice storage, and not just whether there are closets, but whether they're actually useful.
And I notice the things that didn't show up in the listing photos.
After you've walked through thousands of homes, you start looking at houses a little differently.
Pretty finishes can certainly catch your eye.
But function, condition and the way a home actually lives are usually what keep my attention.
