If you are looking for a coffee shop with a great atmosphere, go to Cabin Coffee Co. - Clear Lake, IA! The other day, I stopped there to grab some lunch and get some work done. Not only was my sandwich super tasty, but the baristas working just made the experience all that much better. They were so helpful and extremely attentive to their patrons -- it was honestly so energizing to be surrounded by people who care about their job and the people they serve!

If you already go here, you probably know what I'm talking about when I say this coffee shop is awesome! And if you haven't, do yourself a favor and check them out. Not only is their coffee good, but their food is delish as well so I'd recommend grabbing lunch while you're there!

Becky and I have been friends for a longgg time – we go all the way back to 1978! So, it’s safe to say I know her quite well and that’s why I’m honored to highlight her on my business page!

Here’s the truth about Zillow...

It is a great tool to use if you are looking for rough estimates. However, I wouldn’t base any of your major financial decisions on the numbers they provide you.

The fact of the matter is, Zillow’s home estimates in the United States are off by 20% or more 20% of the time. If you have a home worth somewhere in the $450,000 range, their price estimate could be off by $90,000 or more in either direction. Getting those numbers right is crucial when assessing the possibility of selling your home.

As we approach our 248th year of independence from Britain, I want to give you a very specific reason to be grateful for our independence.

For example, if we hadn't cut ties, we would be expected to eat beans on toast and pretend to like it. 😝

Apparently, it's wildly popular across the pond.

All I can say is that I now have a new found appreciation for the traditional American hamburger and hotdog - they are now true culinary masterpieces in my book. 🧑‍🍳

I was showing a home to a married couple the other day when I asked the husband, "So, which home did you like better?"

He's a smart man. He replied with:

"I liked the first one, but what I learned from buying our first home is that my opinion doesn't matter - I go along with what my wife wants."

I mean, we've all heard the phrase, "happy wife, happy life."

So it got me thinking: Who wears the pants in your relationship? Is it the same person that gets the final say on which home you buy? 😉

Happy Father's Day weekend - especially to my own Dad 💚
The other day I saw this statistic and I was pretty shocked...

Did you know that by the time you graduate from high school and head off into the "adult" world, you have already spent 93% of the time with your parents that you'll ever spend? The day you move out of the house, you're in the final seven percent of time with your parents. That's not much time left!

Use it wisely. Don't take your kids (or parents) for granted. We can always make more money, but we can't make more memories.

Wishing a Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Love you, Dad!
