22nd Street Trailhead Parking Planned to Close Until November 1 For Major Infrastructure Improvement 🚧

Access to the major surrounding trail systems remain open with exception to safety impacts along the pipeline system.

Starting May 1, waterfall overlook trail near the mouth of Ogden Canyon along the pipeline will be impacted as construction begins on the Ogden Canyon 36” Water Transmission Pipeline Project, a major infrastructure investment and the city’s most significant water conservation effort this year.

Here’s what to expect:
- 22nd St. Trailhead parking will be CLOSED (pedestrian access only) for heavy equipment staging
- Alternate parking available at 27th and 29th Street trailheads
- Work will take place Monday through Friday (Saturdays as needed), sunrise to sunset
- Trail access will vary by phase through November 1

This project is essential to maintaining and improving Ogden’s water system, and we appreciate your patience as this work moves forward.

BIG BOY 4014 is rolling back into Utah

One of the most legendary trains ever built is pulling into Ogden Union Station for a rare public stop… and it’s something you really have to see in person to understand.

Built in the 1940s to haul massive loads through the mountains of the West, Big Boy No. 4014 is now the largest operating steam locomotive in the world. There’s only one still running… and it’s coming right here to Utah.

📍 2501 Wall Ave, Ogden
🗓 Saturday, April 18 (10am–5pm)
🗓 Sunday, April 19 (11am–3pm)
💰 FREE to attend

You’ll be able to walk right up to it, see the size up close, and feel what rail travel used to be like back in the day. Expect big crowds… this thing draws people from all over.

If you’ve never seen it before, this is one of those Utah events you don’t want to miss.

Who’s going to check this out?

Raindance Film Festival, the UK’s largest independent film festival and one of the most prestigious showcases for emerging talent worldwide, has announced Ogden, Utah, as the official host city for its highly anticipated U.S. edition. The festival, set to debut in March 2027, will bring world-class independent films, cutting-edge technology showcases, and industry networking opportunities to the Wasatch Front.

Founded in London in 1992, Raindance has championed independent voices for over three decades, launching the careers of filmmakers such as Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer, Inception), Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, The Gentlemen), and Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Last Night in Soho). Its arrival in Ogden marks the first time the festival will have a permanent U.S. home.

"This partnership with Raindance is more than a festival - it’s an investment in Ogden’s creative future," said Ben Nadolski, Mayor of Ogden City. "We’re honored to welcome international filmmakers and audiences to experience our city’s unique blend of history, innovation, and breathtaking mountain surroundings."
