Why are the sunsets so vibrant in Florida?
As any resident of Clearwater will tell you, it is the city of a thousand sunsets. Each day, the great fire ball on its final dip creates unique and often spectacular colors and patterns, especially after thunderstorms when the air is clean.
A particularly red sky results from high atmospheric pressure, where particles are more highly concentrated and more blue light is scattered. A red sunset therefore usually means that there's an area of high pressure.
