The state also logged the most foreclosure starts at 4,136. A foreclosure start is when a buyer falls at least 120 days behind on payment, and the lender starts the legal process of foreclosure.

Freddie Mac’s 30-year mortgage rate slipped to 6.26% this week as markets reacted to the Fed’s first rate cut since December 2024.
