Why am I talking about plumbing work when I'm showing an electrical panel? Sometimes the electrical ground uses metal pipes in the home to provide the earth ground. If the plumber interupts the ground system, there is not safe way to provide an earth ground.

Typically a jumper wire is ran around the plastic pipe to keep the ground system functioning. Simple repair but it needs to be done.

Inspectors have a responsibility to protect the home they are inspecting as much as possible, especially vacant homes. This could have been a big mess.

When things leak, I'm glad I hae a kit to soak up messes. I know some inspectors just look around and use whats available but there is no gaurantee there will be anything to use. Always have a spill kit available.

Should there be a gap between truss ends and the adjacent framing? Should the angled nails on a joist hanger pe*****te through both framing members? YES.

This is not a joke or humor: I saw this label on a toilet in a big box store today and it kind of made me laugh. Even though the toilet may be capable of this, your drain lines are not. Please don't test the function of a toilet by flushing golf balls or billiard balls. That's just asking for a major problem.

Anchor straps secure the framing to the foundation. This keeps things from moving under storm loads. There were no bolts in place so these straps need to wrap the plate and secure the framing to the foundation.
