This is major to extreme cold, not typical Florida weather. Multiple nights of hard freeze, dangerous wind chills, and elevated fire risk are expected beginning tomorrow night.

What to expect:
• Strong winds Saturday afternoon with gusts up to 50 mph
• Wind chills as low as 9°–20° Sunday morning
• Hard freezes Saturday night and Sunday night
• Near-record low temperatures across Central Florida

🔥 FIRE SAFETY REMINDERS
• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn
• Never leave space heaters unattended
• Do NOT use ovens, stovetops, or grills to heat your home. This can cause fires and deadly carbon monoxide poisoning
• Make sure smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are working

🏠 COLD WEATHER SHELTERS OPEN
• Friday 1/30: LifePointe Church, Eustis (5 PM–7 AM)
• Saturday 1/31 & Monday 2/2: Salvation Army facilities (5 PM–7 AM) and Hope International Church, Groveland (5 PM–7 AM)
