Heads up! Clermont water restrictions!

Attention Clermont Champions

Due to ongoing severe drought conditions, the St. Johns River Water Management District has issued a Phase III Extreme Water Shortage Order that includes Lake County and impacts Clermont residents.

Landscape irrigation is now limited to ONE day per week:
Odd numbered addresses: Saturday
Even numbered addresses: Sunday
Non residential properties: Tuesday

Irrigation is prohibited between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

These mandatory restrictions are now in effect. Every drop counts as we work together to conserve water and protect our community’s water resources during these extremely dry conditions.

This is great news for Orlando!

We can officially call Orlando an Olympic city!

Today the International Olympic Committee announced that Orlando will join Tokyo, Shanghai and Montreal as hosts for the Olympic Q-Series before the LA28 Olympic Games.

The event in our community in June 2028 will bring athletes from around the world to Orlando, where they will compete to qualify for spots in the Olympics in a festival atmosphere at Camping World Stadium. The sports that will be featured along the four-stop series are 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle, climbing, flag football and skateboarding.

Events like this help bring even more visitors from around the globe to our region and allow us to showcase our community's vibrancy to the rest of the world.

Over the last several years, Orlando has developed into the nation's premier sports event destination, with the ability to host nearly any kind of event. Prior to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, our city played a key role by hosting the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon. I will always remember residents and visitors packing the streets in and around downtown to cheer on our nation's top long-distance runners as they raced for Olympic spots. In two years, I'm certain that the energy and excitement will return for the Olympic Q-Series.

Positively Osceola is announcing an exciting new weekly podcast hosted by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, titled “Diners, Drive-Ins & Lakefronts.”

Known for his bold personality and passion for uncovering hidden culinary gems, Fieri is set to spotlight the very best of Osceola County’s food scene—from family-owned favorites and food trucks to waterfront dining experiences across Kissimmee, St. Cloud, and beyond.

The new Osceola Daily News Podcast will feature behind-the-scenes conversations with local restaurant owners, chefs, and community leaders, all while showcasing the stories and flavors that make Osceola County unique.

With filming expected to take place at popular destinations including Kissimmee Lakefront Park and other iconic local spots, the series aims to put Osceola firmly on the map as a must-visit food destination in Central Florida.
