Cleveland doesn’t get enough credit for views like this.🌊
Since Lake Erie sits west of the city, all of these beaches face open water sunset views but a few stand out for different reasons.
🌅 Edgewater Beach is the top pick if you want the skyline in the shot. It offers panoramic views of downtown Cleveland from the shore for a breathtaking sunset, and it’s the closest option to downtown just minutes away.
🌅 Huntington Beach (Bay Village) is the pick for something quieter and more scenic. It has a dedicated Sunset Picnic Plaza for taking in the lake views, plus wooded trails and higher vantage points above the beach.
🌅 Headlands Beach State Park (Mentor) is worth the drive if you want the biggest, most open stretch of sand. It’s known for its massive 35-acre beach and phenomenal Lake Erie sunset viewing — it’s the longest natural beach in the state, so there’s plenty of room to spread out.
🌅Euclid Beach and Villa Angela on the east side are good if you’re closer to that part of town — Euclid Beach is open early and late for sunrises and sunsets, with a quieter, less crowded vibe than Edgewater.
