🛠 We all know that home improvements are a great way to add value to your home. But sometimes, you can go overboard with the improvements.

Installing a swimming pool – This is not always a bad idea, but it’s not always a good one either. Most people don’t use their pools, so it’s just an extra expense for them. What’s more, the cost of maintenance on this type of improvement is significant and can end up costing more than it’s worth in the long run.

Going open plan – Going open plan is another popular choice that doesn’t always pay off. Most people prefer rooms with defined boundaries; they like having space to call their own and separate areas where they can work or entertain.

Extensive landscaping – Landscaping is beautiful—but expensive! It can be a fun project but adds little value to your home.

Adding a sunroom or garage conversion may increase the value of your home, but only if done correctly—and with careful consideration for zoning laws and building codes.
