Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We think about the lives lost to the terrorist attacks, the families who carry that loss every day, and the brave men and women who ran into the face of danger to help others.

Passive fire protection exists to give people more time to get out when it matters most. That mission feels especially close to our hearts today.

We will never forget.

Beyond the project award, we're celebrating our own Adam Carter, Director of Fire and Life Safety and NFCA Second Vice President.

Adam received the NFCA Achievement Award for Service to the Passive Fire Protection Industry at the 2026 FCIA/NFCA Conference, recognition from his peers for years of work behind the scenes!

Picture this: a crew member standing on top of an elevator car, spraying fireproofing on structural steel, just 10 to 15 feet from another elevator carrying people to their floor.

That was daily life at the James A. Rhodes State Office Tower, where elevators were taken out of service one at a time to keep the building running while we upgraded fire protection throughout the shafts.

Precision scheduling. Constant coordination. Zero disruption.

What does it take to fireproof a building while 2,500 people are working inside it every day?

At the James A. Rhodes State Office Tower, our crews upgraded fireproofing deep inside active elevator shafts and mechanical chases, in a fully operational 42-story government building.

Every worker passed a background check before stepping on site, then cleared daily security screening, including metal detectors.

Every single project Superior has completed has been done with union labor, a standard Tom set the day he founded the company, and one that's never wavered.
