🚨 SCAM ALERT: DON'T FALL FOR THE "LEFTOVER MATERIAL" PITCH 🚨
The Bradley County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to be on the lookout for a paving scam that has been reported in our area.
Scammers may come to your door claiming they have "leftover paving material" from another job and can pave your driveway at a deeply discounted price, but don't fall for it. This is a common scam used to pressure homeowners into making quick decisions.
The suspects have reportedly been seen in the Georgetown Road area near the Hamilton County line and may be driving a white pickup truck with yellow lettering displaying the word "Paving."
⚠️ Protect yourself:
• Never agree to work from unsolicited door-to-door contractors.
• Don't let anyone pressure you into making an immediate decision.
• Research contractors, ask for references, and verify they are properly licensed and insured.
• Never pay upfront.
If someone approaches your home with this offer, please contact the Bradley County Sheriff's Office non-emergency line at 423-728-7311 and select Option 6. Reporting these encounters helps deputies respond quickly and may prevent others from becoming victims.
