Beyond the Interest rate:
Interest rates are up again, but real estate isn't just about rates. Yes, borrowing costs are a critical factor because lenders qualify buyers based on their Debt-to-Income (DTI) ratio. Higher interest rates mean higher monthly debt payments, which directly reduces purchasing power—buyers qualify for less because more of their payment goes toward interest.
However, the real crisis right now is the lack of inventory. Just look around our neighborhoods: are you seeing new single-family or 2- 3-4 families homes or affordable condominiums being built? Rarely. Instead, we see rental complexes going up everywhere. That setup works great for large corporations managing buildings remotely, but it makes homeownership harder to reach for everyday buyers chasing the American Dream.
Real estate is far more complex than just headlines about rates and inventory. Whether you are buying or selling, strategic solutions and local opportunities always exist when you work with the right guidance.
