One of the great things about living in the Capital Region NY is being so close to so many amazing destinations! 🚗✨

NYC, Boston, Montreal—and, of course, beautiful Lake Ontario—are all within reach for a weekend getaway.

This weekend, I had the opportunity to explore the beautiful Thousand Islands. 🌊☀️🏝️ One of the highlights was visiting the incredible Boldt Castle, a stunning castle with a fascinating history located on Heart Island.

Here are some photos and videos from my beautiful weekend exploring this amazing part of New York State. Sometimes you don’t have to travel far to feel like you’re somewhere completely different! ❤️

🏡 Should you renovate before selling your home?

This is a question I get pretty often.

And honestly, I wouldn’t start renovating just because you’re getting ready to sell.

Some updates can help your home show better and attract buyers. Others can cost a lot of money without adding much to the final sale price.

Things I’d consider doing:
✔️ Touch up or repaint the walls
✔️ Fix anything that’s obviously broken
✔️ Update outdated light fixtures
✔️ Freshen up the kitchen or bathroom
✔️ Clean, declutter and get rid of the “stuff”
✔️ Give the outside of the house some attention

But I’d think twice before spending $20,000, $30,000 or more on a major renovation.

Your buyers may have completely different tastes and they may want to make those changes themselves.

The goal is to make your home look clean, cared for and move-in ready without putting money into projects you may never get back.
