💧 NOTICE TO WELL OWNERS IN CLOVIS & RURAL FRESNO COUNTY 💧
If you have a private, domestic, or agricultural well, you may have seen signs about registering your well. This notice comes from the North Kings Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) — a local government agency formed under California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).
---
📍 What’s Happening
The GSA now requires all wells within its boundaries (including private home wells) to be registered.
Registration is open through November 30, 2025. After that, a $100 late fee per well may apply.
The process is online at 👉 northkingsgsa.org/wellregistration

🧭 Why They’re Doing This
The state asked local agencies to collect more detailed well data as part of a broader groundwater-management plan.
Registration helps track how many wells exist, where they’re located, and whether they’re active.
The GSA says this will support local control of groundwater and identify areas that might qualify for future well-assistance programs.
---
📊 What Comes Next
Phase 1 – Registration (now through 2025)
Residents and property owners register wells online.
Phase 2 – Monitoring & Recharge Projects
The GSA is expanding monitoring wells and recharge basins to measure and replenish local aquifers.
Phase 3 – Implementation of the Groundwater Plan
The plan sets goals for reaching “sustainability” by 2040 and guides future projects.
Phase 4 – Evaluation & Adjustments
Every 5 years, progress reports are submitted to the state and the plan may be updated.

⚖️ What to Keep in Mind
This requirement comes from a public agency, not a private company.
Data provided is used for groundwater planning; questions about privacy, use of data, or future rules can be directed to the GSA.
Some residents have concerns about property rights and oversight; others see it as a step toward local water control.
