Don't forget to file your business Beneficial Ownership documents! It's much simpler than I expected.
Make sure to read through the information on the gov website, but here's my quick assessment. Please note I am not a lawyer, so ensure you confirm information before you rely on this. It is just informative to get you started.

1) BOI applies to your business if you filed something with your secretary of state (e.g. if you're a sole proprietor, you don't need to file, but if you filed LLC documents, even single-member LLC, you do need to file).

2) You'll need a copy of your ID on hand (e.g. drivers license or passport) because you'll need to type in the number, and also upload a photo of the ID. Save time and get the photo onto your computer before you start.

3) Have your EIN ready, you'll need to enter it.

Make sure to download the document and save it. I recommend putting the name of your company in the filename because the confirmation pdf for some reason, has the BOI number but doesn't include the name of the company.

BE AWARE!

Those Spam calls, where they keep asking you to verify your Google business listing. I finally answered one today hoping it would get the calls to stop. I discovered they wanted to charge me $200 to verify my Google business listing.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY TO CREATE A GOOGLE BUSINESS LISTING! It is a FREE service from Google.

I knew this was FREE to do on Google's website, and when I asked the spammer about that he hung up on me!

You can go to Google's website, and download the app for your phone.

The app will ask for your business name, phone number, and street address. PO Box is not eligible. You can hide your street address from the public, but you do have to enter one.

Finish filling out the app, and Google will mail a post card to that address, with a code number. Once you get the post card, enter the number in the app and you are verified! It's that simple. And FREE.
