👉 Don’t be Uncertain About the Cone of Uncertainty
Expect some changes to the National Hurricane Center's (NHC) famed forecast cone this season.
🌀 The cone will now include tropical storm and hurricane watches and warnings for inland areas, as well as coastal areas. The example shown here of the new format is from Hurricane Milton in 2024. This was done to show that impacts can be felt far inland as well.
‼️ Important things to remember:
⛑️ Be prepared even if you are not in the forecast cone.
🌀 A hurricane is not a single point; impacts can be felt for hundreds of miles.
⚠️ Only follow the official forecast cone produced by the NHC.
🔈 Heed all watches and warnings.
