Personal Finance for Kids & Teens!

I’ve been working on something I wish I had when I was younger—and honestly, something I wish more kids had today. It’s a personal finance book written specifically for middle schoolers, packed with simple, real-world money lessons rooted in biblical principles.

It’s based on my book Faith Over Finance, but reimagined it for kids who are just starting to earn, save, and make decisions with their money. I kept it super practical, easy to understand, and hopefully even a little fun. Topics like saving, giving, working hard, budgeting, contentment, and more—all through a faith-based lens.

If you’re a parent, teacher, youth pastor, or involved in a Christian school or homeschool group, I’d love to talk with you. I’m hoping this book becomes a tool to help the next generation avoid the mistakes many of us made—and instead, grow up confident and wise with their finances.

Finance is like Fitness… You Gotta Have a Donut Sometimes

Taking your finances seriously is like training for a marathon—you need discipline, consistency, and a clear goal. Budgeting, saving, investing… yeah, it’s work. But just like working out, if you never enjoy it, you’ll burn out.

That’s why I say: have your cheat day. Eat the donut.

You can be smart with money and still enjoy life. Go on the vacation (planned for it). Buy the shoes (if you’ve budgeted). Take your wife out for that overpriced steak (you’re investing in your marriage, too).

Being financially strong doesn’t mean living like a monk—it means knowing when to say no, and when to say YES!

So here’s your permission: Be smart. Be intentional. But don’t forget to have a little fun with your money, too.

I’ve had a lot of people ask about the doctorate program I’m starting at Liberty University, so here’s a quick rundown. It’s a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership (DSL), which focuses on real-world leadership application rather than just research. The program is designed to develop high-level leadership skills, strategic decision-making, and the ability to lead organizations effectively—all through a foundation of biblically based teachings.

For me, this isn’t just about earning another degree. It’s about deepening my ability to serve my business partners, clients, and community with stronger leadership, wisdom, and strategy. The principles will not only strengthen my own businesses but also allow me to bring even greater value to those I work with and teach—helping them grow in a way that’s sustainable, ethical, and purpose-driven.
