With the 2023 CFL season officially over I just wanted to reflect as well as thank everyone involved in this years season.
To start Hamilton, I love y’all. This city has truly adopted me and supported me through these last 3 years. You made all those mornings this year of waking up at 4 AM to be the best I could be easy because it’s what a majority of Hamiltonian’s have to do every day. Put on their boots, grab their hard hats, and get to work when it’s still dark outside. The support you guys give us through thick and thin fuels us and motivates us to play at our best. There is nothing like being a defensive player taking Tim Hortons field each week in front of our amazing fans. The season wasn’t the outcome we wanted but Hamilton will have their trophy soon…
To my support system of teammates, coaches, treatment staff, and front office personnel thank you. I wouldn’t be as prepared or as healthy to play each week if it wasn’t for you! Especially to for being there everyday in the gym at 5:00 AM with me supporting my goals and shooting about 300 JUGS machine balls a week to me for 21 straight weeks.
To my family, especially my Wife who I’ve had to live apart from these past 3 years for 6 months out of the year, thank you for your unquestionable support and love which has allowed me to live out my dream. We have come so far in such a short amount of time!
God has truly blessed my family and I and I can’t wait to see what the He has planned for me next. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Him, I’m an average kid from an average town with average abilities. He has made me great. If there’s anything that you can take from my story it’s to keep the faith. God is more powerful than any statistic, any negative thought, any barrier that is trying to keep you from what He has called for you to do.
2023 was just the blueprint, 2024 will be something we’ve never seen before, I love my CFL family can’t wait for next year.
