Before you sign with a builder, there are a few important things you should know! From timelines to inspections, understanding the process can help you avoid surprises.

Here are 4 key things to keep in mind when purchasing a new construction home.

1️⃣ You Still Need a Realtor
Many buyers think they can go directly to the builder, but having your own agent helps protect your interests, review contracts, and negotiate upgrades or incentives.

2️⃣ The Base Price Isn’t the Final Price
Model homes often include upgrades that aren’t part of the base price. Flooring, cabinets, appliances, landscaping, and other features can add up quickly.

3️⃣ Inspections Are Still Important
Even though the home is brand new, inspections are still recommended. Third-party inspectors can catch issues during construction and before closing.

4️⃣ Timelines Can Change
Construction timelines are estimates. Weather, materials, and labor can cause delays, so it’s important to stay flexible with move-in dates.
