🎙️ Before celebrities “discovered” North Idaho, Bing Crosby was already summering here.
Greg takes us back to Hayden Lake — where in 1949, one of the biggest voices in America bought a summer home and spent his seasons golfing, fishing, and hosting famous friends right along the water. He was in good company: by 1912 the lake already had Idaho’s first 18-hole golf course, and presidents Taft and Roosevelt had made the trip up before him.
Bing understood what we still know today — there’s something about these waters that pulls people in and never quite lets them go. More than a century later, that hasn’t changed. It’s just gotten harder to find.
This is the history that built our region. The lifestyle it created is still here.
