If you bought a home in Texas in 2022 please make sure you have received your property tax bill. Locally the Brazos Central Appraisal District is behind in updating ownership records so you may not have received your property tax bill HOWEVER it is still your responsibility to know that taxes are due and to pay on time. If you escrow your lender pays this bill but if you paid cash you need to remember to pay it if even a bill has not been received. You can go into Brazos CAD search by property and see if ownership has been updated. At the tax office they will take your payment and issue you a receipt in your name for the respective property. We spoke to someone at the tax office but they could not give us a good idea on when they would be caught up. If you escrow - it's always a good idea to at sign to your account or follow up to make sure they have paid on your behalf as it is their responsibility. If you elect split payment the first payment is due November 30 or full payment on or before January 31, 2023.

Also, be sure to ask what fees the title company may be charging. For example, I believe we’re lower than most on escrow fees for regular residential transactions!

Closing costs are a part of every real estate transaction. Your lender can give you a total amount for closing costs!
