Wrap your pipes!

Do your pipes love to freeze in the winter? Dripping the faucets on freezing nights is a good start, but if you need an extra boost you should consider pipe sleeves. Think of these as cozy sleeping bags for the pipes in your basement or crawl space. They help insulate, so your pipes won't freeze as easily when temperatures drop.

We are in the thick of winter now! 🥶 This month, I'm going to share a Weekly Winterizing Tip with you each Friday that you can easily tackle this weekend. Here's today's tip:

Clean your gutters! Leaves clogging your gutters make them hold onto water. If there's a freeze, that water expands and can cause damage. Clear the gutters now, before a freeze causes problems.

Having good credit certainly helps when it comes to securing a loan, but if your score is less than stellar, a mortgage broker may still be able to help you find something that works.

It's Friday, and that means it's time for another winterizing tip. I'm sharing one each Friday in January, so be sure to follow me, so you won't miss any! This week's tip:

Grab your caulk gun, and get to work. Seal any cracks around windows or doors to keep cold air out. You'll save money on heating. Since temperatures are already low, make sure you choose caulk that works in cold conditions, like silicone caulk.

Bonus: caulking can help keep ants out of the house during warmer months.
