Is anyone else excited about the cooler temperatures headed our way this weekend?! 🙌 After all this Texas heat, we’re ready for a little FALL weather! 🍂

While you’re enjoying that first taste of fall, it’s also a great time to give your home a little TLC!

🔹 Change Those Air Filters! Your HVAC system has been working overtime all summer. Give it a fresh filter before switching over to heat!

🔹 Test Your Heater! Don’t wait until the first freezing night to discover your heater isn’t working. Turn it on now and make sure everything is running properly.

🔹 Check Your Weatherstripping! Feel a draft around your doors or windows? A little weatherstripping can go a long way toward keeping the warm air in and your electric bill down!

🔹 Clean Those Gutters! Falling leaves are beautiful… until they’re clogging your gutters! 🍁 Keep them clear so rainwater can drain away from your home.

🔹 Check Your Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors! Heating season is a great reminder to test those alarms and replace batteries when needed.

As we enter what is typically a slower season in the home inspection industry, today’s Bible verse feels especially fitting. “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

At Texas Professional Inspections, we’ve learned that slower doesn’t necessarily mean less productive. Sometimes, it’s an opportunity to be still, reflect, and refocus.

While our schedules may not be quite as full, we’re using this time to take a closer look at our operations, invest in continuing education, evaluate what we can improve, and find new ways to better serve our clients and Realtor partners.

It’s easy to measure success by how busy we are. But sometimes, growth happens in the quieter seasons.

Psalm 46:10 reminds us that we don’t always have to be moving at full speed. There’s value in slowing down, trusting God’s timing, and being intentional with the opportunities He’s given us.

We’re thankful for the busy seasons, but we’re learning to appreciate the slower ones, too. Because every season has a purpose, and there’s always room to grow!

Here’s your Wednesday reminder: Don’t mistake a quiet season for a season without purpose. Sometimes, it’s exactly where God is preparing you for what’s next. ❤️

😂 THURSDAY THOUGHTS FROM TPI!

You know you’re officially an adult when you walk into someone else’s house and say things like…

👀 “Ohhhh, I love their countertops!”

🚿 “I wonder how their water pressure is?”

❄️ “What temperature do they keep their AC on?”

🚽 “Now THAT is a nice bathroom!”

And our inspectors? They’re over there wondering what’s going on in the attic and whether the outlets are wired correctly. 🤣

🏠😂 Construction Joke of the day!

My contractor said my house would be done in 6 months.

I said, “Great! Which 6 months?” 😂

🔥 Well… that’s one way to make the house smell like fresh laundry! 😂

During a recent inspection, Tyler discovered that the dryer duct wasn’t venting outside at all. Instead, it terminated into a voided area underneath the HVAC closet. 😳

While your house might smell Downy-fresh, this setup is no joke. Dryer exhaust carries heat, moisture, and lint, and allowing it to discharge into an enclosed area can create moisture problems and, more importantly, a potential fire hazard.

The dryer duct should be properly routed and terminated outdoors.

Just another reason a thorough home inspection matters. Sometimes it’s what you CAN’T see that causes the biggest problems.
