A townhome and a condo can look almost exactly the same.

So what's actually different?

The simplest explanation is this:
Townhome usually describes the type of home.
Condo describes a form of ownership.

And yes, that means a home that looks like a townhome can actually be legally organized as a condo.

Why does that matter? Because the ownership structure can affect maintenance, insurance, HOA responsibilities, financing and even future rental plans.

College Station’s new tax rate is official, but the increase may sound bigger than it actually is.

For the city’s median-valued homestead, the estimated difference comes out to about $68 for the year.

A couple of important things to keep in mind:
• That’s the City of College Station portion only, not the entire property tax bill.
• A buyer’s future tax bill may look very different from what the current owner is paying today.
