Bundle up, DFW!
🚨 Heads up, North Texas! Confidence is growing that we’ll see a blast of Arctic air and wintry weather heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, an Arctic cold front is expected to move in early Friday morning. Rain will likely transition to freezing rain, sleet, and possibly snow later Friday, with the most likely window for wintry precipitation starting late Friday afternoon into Friday evening. If the front moves faster, impacts could begin a bit earlier.
🌡️ What really matters:
Once temperatures drop, they’re expected to stay below freezing from Friday night through Sunday, and parts of North Texas may not warm back above freezing until Monday.
❄️ The coldest night looks to be Saturday night, with lows ranging from the single digits to the mid-teens.
🚗 Travel impacts and power outages are possible, especially with ice in the mix, so now is a good time to plan ahead.
🏠 Prepare now by protecting the 4 P’s:
People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants
• Drip indoor faucets
• Know where your water shut-off valve is
• Bring pets inside
• Check on neighbors who may need help
Stay warm and stay safe 💙❄️
