SCAM ALERT! Worth your time to read this!!!
I just received a call from a lady that wanted to know when they could move into a Rental.
I actually have an existing female tenant scheduled to move in on 12/1, so I informed her it was ready and asked when she wanted to meet for key--she said she would ask her husband and wanted to know how much money they needed to bring at that time.
Well, my tenant is single female, so I started asking questions...
She said that they had signed a Lease and that someone showed it to her husband....
I informed her that they had been scammed and have asked for a copy of their lease and name of person that showed it--our houses are locked with key boxes so if they entered it was not through front door...
Please be careful out there when shopping for a home and never give money to anyone without verifying who they are and/or represent. You can verify owners by county tax records and Agents thru TREC website...
