This week, Phyllis Guasp shares her perspective on our decision to move the Real Property Management Regions Day of Service from September 18 to September 25, 2026.

There’s more work to do now. Marketing has to change. Schedules have to move. Some of our supporters can no longer be there in person.

But something pretty special happened too: even companies that can’t join us on the new date told us they still want to support the veteran family financially.

That’s what this project is becoming.

People coming together around a family, not just an event on a calendar.

The date changed. The mission didn’t.

It’s Friday, which means we have another chapter of our Day of Service Journal to share.

And this week, the plan changed.

Our Day of Service had been scheduled for September 18. After Stephen sat down with Ryan Elliott of The 516 Project, we made the decision to move it to September 25.

That means changing some marketing, updating paperwork and letting a lot of people know about the new date.

But it also puts us in a better position to serve the veteran family this whole project is about.

Part 7 tells the story behind the change, including something pretty encouraging that happened after our partners found out.

Yesterday, Real Property Management Regions had the opportunity to participate in a roundtable hosted by the Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce with Congressman Eugene Vindman.

Housing affordability continues to be one of the most important issues facing our communities. Every day we work with property owners, residents, military families, and individuals relocating to our region, giving us a unique perspective on today’s housing challenges.

We also appreciated the opportunity to discuss support for individuals with special needs and their families, an issue that is both professionally and personally important to our team.
