⚠️ Monse’s Pupuseria, a family-owned Colorado Springs restaurant (who always does well on their restaurant inspections), is facing at least $80,000 in estimated damage after repeated theft and vandalism at its Downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City locations.

According to co-owner Tim Hines, the incidents included stolen rooftop HVAC units, broken windows, and damage to exterior lighting, gas, electric, and water lines.

📍 The Downtown incident delayed the restaurant’s grand opening. The recent damage at the Old Colorado City location added more financial strain for the small business.

Hines said the experience felt like being attacked, and he’s urging other local business owners to stay vigilant and check their properties, especially rooftops, exterior systems, windows, and utility areas.

📋 He’s continuing to document the damage, gather estimates, and work with police and insurance as repairs move forward.

When blacksmith and sculptor Jodie Bliss set out to create a giant metal troll for Palmer Lake, she hoped it would eventually feel like it belonged to the town—not to her.
