🚨 BIG CHANGES COMING TO COLORADO HOME BUILDING & REMODELING – JANUARY 1, 2026! 🚨
Colorado's HB23-1161 (Environmental Standards for Appliances) kicks in soon, requiring stricter energy/water efficiency and low-emission standards for many products. No more selling non-compliant items – this could mean higher costs and supply issues for new builds and remodels!
Key impacts: Ultra-low NOx gas furnaces & water heaters, Energy Star windows/doors/skylights (relaxed rules help!), WaterSense plumbing, and more.
Estimated extra costs (vs. basic models):
• Gas Furnace: $500–$2,000+
• Gas Water Heater: $300–$1,000+
• Windows (per home): $1,000–$3,000
• Plumbing (per bathroom): $100–$300
• Total for new build: $4,000–$12,000+
Long-term: Lower utility bills may offset costs. But act NOW – stock up on current inventory before prices potentially spike!
