"Uncle Joe"
Joe spent Most of his life in Hawaii but moved to Colorado several years ago. He decided in the fall that he was ready to return so that he could be with old friends, family, and spend his days playing golf and singing karaoke!
Nancy is a YCRE agent who lives in Hawaii part time, and Joe was referred to her by a Hawaii agent. She asked me to partner with her in listing Joe’s house because it was a complicated property, needed lots of TLC and strategic marketing to find the right buyer for Joe. We met with Joe to determine his goals and to talk through the steps to prepare his home for the market. There were several issues and one of those involved coaching him to be tough and stand his ground with some people who were taking advantage of him and who had had a direct impact on the condition of his home.
Joe was a champ and worked hard to position himself to sell his home. Leaving for showings was a little bit on the taxing side for him, but we received a good offer within two weeks of listing the home and Joe started packing!
All that to say that being a realtor is SO MUCH MORE than putting a sign in the yard, putting a listing into the MLS, holding open houses, and showing up at closing... Many transactions require us to really LISTEN to our clients, assess their needs, structure a game plan, answer questions, and drop by visits to reassure our clients as we gently coach them to the finish line.
On a separate note:
Have you ever been in a room with two Hawaiians??? It's challenging to (1) Keep us with their rapid conversations (2) Understand "Pigeon" and (3) Get them to stop talking and take care of business:)

Shout out to Dan Mosier of for a smooth and easy roof replacement! Dan was the perfect guy for Joe's project because he was able to explain and walk him through every single step of the Insurance claim process. Joe's first call to insurance resulted in a "scam like" agreement with a roofer. Joe was super nervous about all this so Dan was really a superhero in this deal!
Including Karaoke Joe serenading us in the Land Title lobby and an update from Joe! It doesn't get much better than that!

I met these buyers at an OPEN HOUSE in December. We found a new house for them pretty quickly and will close on the other home in early March!

If you know anyone looking to buy or sell please send them my way! The market is still a little weird but we're seeing lots of activity!

January has been a VERY busy month! The buyers for this beautiful townhome decided to move to COS Back in September. Fannie and Chris found me through my Starving Texans in Colorado page and reached out because they knew that I too had once moved from Texas to Colorado and would understand and be able to walk them through the process! They presented me with some VERY interesting and challenging criteria, but in the end we made it all work! We even had a Texan on the listing side! Welcome to Colorado!
