Swire Coca-Cola, USA has chosen Colorado Springs for a major new manufacturing and bottling facility. The $475 million capital investment will be a 620,000-square-foot manufacturing plant at Peak Innovation Park near the Colorado Springs Airport.

The facility will be state-of-the-art and replace an older Coca-Cola production plant in Denver, and is expected to produce more than 230 beverages across 60+ brands (not just Coca-Cola). About 170 permanent jobs will be created spanning across many roles. Groundbreaking is planned for 2026!

We shall never forget Officer Mark L. Dabling.

Officer Dabling made a traffic stop in the 300 block of West Fillmore. Unknown to Officer Dabling, the person he pulled over was a prison escapee from Florida and had committed a murder before the traffic stop.

As Mark exited the patrol car and walked toward the violator's car, the violator slid to the passenger side and exited with a sawed off .44 caliber carbine. Officer Dabling turned, trying to move toward cover, was shot and fatally wounded. An out-of-state officer used Mark's radio to call for help.

The suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended. The suspect is serving a life sentence at the Colorado State Penitentiary.
