If you’re moving to Fort Carson & are looking to live off post, I highly recommend checking these areas out!

• Fountain
Super close to post, affordable, and very military-heavy community. Great for shorter commutes 🚙
Inside tip: they have one of the best coffee spots EVER!!

• Security–Widefield Area
Right outside base with a mix of older homes and newer pockets 🏡
Insider tip: easy access to Fountain and quick jump onto 25 takes you anywhere

• Stratmoor
Established area with quick I-25 access and typically more budget-friendly homes close to Fort Carson 🌸
Inside tip: one of the best commutes to Fort Carson hands down

• Cheyenne Mountain / Broadmoor Area
Closer to the mountains with beautiful views, trails, and still a reasonable commute 🏔️
Inside tip: this neighborhood is the one for you if you want to feel all the nature vibes all the time

• Powers Corridor (Southeast COS)
More retail, newer builds, and a “suburban city” vibe while still staying within commuting distance 🛍️
Inside tip: the BEST shopping spots (minus the promenade shops) & any restaurant you can think of

First of all, welcome ☺️
Second, this is about to be one of the most fun summers your family has had in a while!

A few tips to make the most of your first summer here:
☀️ Start your days early (trust me.. cooler temps = happier little people)
🌄 Keep snacks + water in the car at all times (you’ll use them)
👟 Dress in or bring layers; weather changes fast here (don’t forget the sunscreen)

And if you’re still getting your bearings, you’re not alone. PCS life can feel overwhelming, but this city makes it easy to find your rhythm again.
