As I reflect back on this last year in the almost 10 years that I have been real estate, I am truly grateful for those who have believed in me and entrusted me to help them with their dream of homeownership or on the other side of that coin, selling a home that they have lived in and loved. After a STRONG start in 2025, halfway through as the market started to change…with rising interest rates and steady home values, for the first time in my real estate career I found myself looking for other opportunities in order to pay my bills. For 6 months I had no showings, no listings, no closings, no clients. Sooooooooo I started reffing high school football to stay busy, stay involved, and to make a little bit of money and at the beginning of 2026 I started substitute teaching 3-4 days a week. There’s an old saying that if you are not uncomfortable, then you’re not learning…well I have done a tremendous amount of learning during this last year. The biggest lesson that I have learned is to be grateful and take nothing for granted. Everything can and will change. Tough times will not last forever, unless you let them, and when you’re on top, know that at some point you will have to take your turn on the bottom. If you continue to look for the good in everything, remain faithful and do not allow circumstances to dictate your emotions that can lead to poor decisions…you will find yourself on top once again. What you find up there may look a bit different but that is what life is all about! So from the bottom of my heart, as a football referee, substitute teacher and real estate agent…thank you to everyone who has taken a chance on me! It means more to me than you realize, I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve you! NOW enough of the mushy stuff…I have to get back on my grind! I have kids who spend ALL my money!
