Let me explain.

If you go under contract in April and close in May, your first mortgage payment usually isn’t due until July.

Sounds like you’re skipping a month, right? 👀

Not exactly…

Mortgage payments are made AFTER the month happens, unlike rent (similar to utility bills). So at closing, you cover the rest of May’s interest, and your July payment covers June.

Now you have that extra money to go paint those walls and make your home yours! 🏡
