I preview a lot of homes, and that first-hand market knowledge is useful to my clients.

For buyers, I can often answer questions about homes I’ve already seen and help them compare properties with more context.

For sellers, I have often been inside many of the comparable homes that sold over the past year. That gives me a better understanding of how those properties actually presented, not just how they appeared in the MLS.

Seeing what's on the market in person helps inform better conversations about condition, value, trade-offs, and intangibles.

If you’re planning a move, that kind of first-hand context can be useful before you make a decision.

More than $100 million in closed real estate transactions and 400+ clients served since 2018.

Those numbers represent hundreds of buyers and sellers, changing markets, different properties, and countless decisions made along the way.

Over time, that work has helped me recognize patterns, anticipate problems, compare options, and understand how decisions about price, condition, terms, timing, and location can affect the outcome of a move.

I’m grateful to the clients who have trusted me with those decisions and the amazing mentors along the way.

I’m looking forward to the work ahead.

If you’re planning a move or weighing a real estate decision, I’d be glad to talk it through with you.

Local knowledge includes understanding how a community changes over time.

When we filmed this American Dream TV segment in 2024, Fretboard Coffee and Mareck Center for Dance offered two different views of Columbia’s North Village Arts District.

Fretboard was part of the everyday rhythm of the neighborhood through coffee, conversation and live music. Mareck brought professional dance, education and community outreach to North Village.

Mareck Center for Dance closed in August 2025. Former Mareck staff members Alec Roth and Sophia Myers later opened Columbia Ballet Academy at the same Orr Street location, where dance education, professional performance and programs including DanceAbility continue under a new organization.

That change is part of the local story too. Businesses and organizations evolve, buildings take on new uses, and the activity within a district changes over time.

Understanding those patterns adds context to real estate market knowledge. They help explain how different parts of Columbia function, develop and attract people.

I’ve updated the Columbia At Home companion story to reflect what has changed since we filmed.

You learn a lot about a community by noticing the places people return to again and again.

One of the things I enjoy about my work is having a reason to keep exploring the community—its neighborhoods, businesses, organizations, gathering places and the people behind them.

Homes are obviously a big part of what I do. But when someone is deciding whether Columbia—or a particular part of Columbia—fits them, knowing what life looks like outside the front door matters too.

That’s one reason I enjoy sharing Columbia stories alongside real estate information.

What Columbia place has become part of your routine?

Tomorrow I’ll share two very different places in the North Village Arts District and a little of the story behind each of them.

What makes a place feel like home is often more than the house itself.

In Columbia, it can be the parks you return to, a favorite local restaurant, live music, downtown shops, a good coffee spot, time on the Katy Trail, and a home that fits the way you want to live.

Those everyday details matter when you’re deciding where to put down roots.

What part of Columbia life matters most to you?

What Sellers Can Learn From Being a Buyer

If you’re thinking about selling your current home and buying another, touring homes can help with more than your next-home search.
It helps clarify what matters most to you—but it also gives you the experience of walking into a home as a buyer and forming that first impression.

That perspective can be incredibly useful when it is time to prepare your own home for the market.

You begin to notice condition, maintenance, presentation, and the little things that make you stop and wonder what else may need attention.

That does not mean a home has to be perfect. It means buyers are gathering information from the moment they walk through the door.

Sometimes one of the best ways to understand how buyers may see your home is to spend a little time being the buyer yourself.
