As a Christian Realtor® + Kingdom Educator, here’s what I’d tell you to ask for instead…
WISDOM
📖 James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God…”
Before asking God for the house, ask Him for wisdom to make sound decisions with your money.
DISCIPLINE
📖 Proverbs 21:5
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance…”
Saving for a home requires consistency, even when progress feels slow. Discipline today can create options for you tomorrow.
STRATEGY
📖 Proverbs 24:3–4
“By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established…”
Homeownership doesn’t have to begin with having everything figured out. Ask God for a strategy, then take practical steps with your credit, savings, debt, and budget.
PATIENCE
📖 Habakkuk 2:3
“Though it tarry, wait for it…”
Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it isn’t coming. Give yourself permission to prepare without rushing into a financial decision you aren’t ready for.
DISCERNMENT
📖 Proverbs 14:15
“The prudent give thought to their steps.”
Being approved for a certain amount doesn’t automatically mean you should spend that amount. Ask for discernment to recognize what you can comfortably afford and sustain.
THE RIGHT PEOPLE
📖 Proverbs 15:22
“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”
Who you have guiding you matters. The right Real estate agent, lender, and professionals can help you understand your options and make informed decisions throughout the process.
STEWARDSHIP
📖 Luke 16:10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…”
Prepare to manage what you’re praying to receive. Homeownership isn’t only about getting the keys, it’s being financially prepared to maintain and steward what comes with them.
