Here we go 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Kroger is investing significant capital to move across Forest Drive and this creates exponential good news for us 👏🏼👏🏼
Once the anchor store signs on to a project, especially the largest traditional grocery store business by revenue in the United States, more premier shopping and dining will be ready to ink their own lease to join us at this landmark redevelopment that will define Forest Acres for generations to come.
AND it opens up more redevelopment at the former Kroger … So, Forest Drive is getting a full blown glow up, y’all 💚🌳💚
“Kroger has deep roots in Forest Acres, so it’s exciting to hear they’re committed to making such a significant investment in our community. Not only are they staying, but they’re also expanding with us through this public-private partnership, helping to bring our vision for this new space at the gateway to our city to life,” said Forest Acres Mayor Thomas Andrews.
“With Southeastern’s proven track record of high-quality developments, which include Kroger stores, we’re excited that this partnership will deliver a state-of-the-art Kroger to anchor this landmark project.”
Kroger has committed to building its premier prototype store—a Kroger Marketplace spanning 120,000 square feet at the site.
The new store will feature a drive-thru pharmacy, a fuel center, Pickup, and an in-store Starbucks. Kroger is not only the largest supermarket operator in the U.S. by revenue, it’s also the country’s fifth-largest general retailer. Kroger is also one of the largest American-owned private employers in the United States.
“We are excited to be a part of the team bringing our new Kroger Marketplace to the community,” said Victor Smith, president of Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “As an employer, food processor, retailer, healthcare provider, and more, we have a responsibility to create positive change and deliver on our purpose to feed the human spirit.”
The current Kroger located at 3403 Forest Dr will remain open while the new Kroger Marketplace is under construction.
