Have you checked your home for radon lately? It’s a naturally occurring, odorless radioactive gas that’s quite common in Maryland. Because it seeps through concrete, it can linger in basements undetected, and long-term exposure carries health risks similar to smoking half a pack of ci******es a day.

I recently tested my own basement after a client’s home inspection turned up high levels. To my surprise, I had elevated levels too. The good news is that it’s an easy fix—a remediation specialist can install a simple suction system to vent the gas outside.
