And according to research, it may have less to do with how the house looks than we think.

A 2024 study looked at what actually makes people feel attached to their homes.

One of the strongest themes was restoration - our home being a place where we can relax, recharge, and emotionally recover.

In fact, 86.7% of people in one part of the study described their home this way.

But that wasn’t all.

Feeling at home was also connected to positive relationships and having enough space to comfortably live your life.

Maybe that’s why the things we remember most about our homes are rarely the things we loved about the house itself.

We remember who was there, what happened there, and how we felt while we were living it.
