My story....
In addition to being a wedding officiant, I am also a realtor and had found a home for a client who I knew “at some time” they would be getting married. We put an offer on the log cabin home of their dreams and it was accepted! In general conversation over some signatures one evening I said to them...”ok, you’ve got the house now, when is the wedding?” They looked at each other, smiled, and said “we want YOU to do it!” My response was “what?! Lol” and she said “we want YOU to marry us!” It was one of the most humbling offers I have ever had made to me. To think that this couple related to me, trusted me, and thought highly enough of me to ask me to be their wedding officiant. 💍
I was asked to officiate this Christmas season elopement/2nd marriage ceremony for this very dear couple in Middle Tennessee about 2 weeks before Christmas. You never know what winter weather, or even late fall for that matter, is going to be like in TN. The bride was planning the ceremony at a park along the river. There were only going to be 3 guests. The weather took a turn a couple days previously and we were now in temps too cold to comfortably perform the ceremony outdoors. She was heartbroken and beyond herself wondering where was she going to find a suitable place for her wedding to take place! After discussing it together, I offered my home for her ceremony. My house was nicely decorated for Christmas and we have a stunning white brick fireplace I could envision them standing in front of. She accepted immediately and we proceeded to plan the change in her small ceremony. She was a beautiful bride, the groom was glowing and the ceremony went perfectly. Not only am I their wedding officiant but we are dear friends. There is always a silver lining if we put our heads together. ❤️ _____________________________________________________________
