The BAF Group is primarily a Business Brokerage, working with companies and individuals in the process of buying and selling businesses.We also work with people and businesses finding, increasing or reducing their Commercial Real Estate holdings. We sometimes work with Buyers, identifying purchasing opportunities, qualifying those candidates and assisting in the buying process. Most often, we repr
esent the Sellers in analyzing their Company financial history, understanding the history of the Business and the industry, and developing a pricing and promotional strategy, ALL on the most confidential of methods. We then promote the Company’s availability for sale – again, on a confidential basis – qualify prospective Buyers, negotiate the final price and terms, and bring the entire process to a successful settlement. Even when representing the Seller, we are frequently asked by the Buyer to assisting with the Loan process, which we readily do. (It does no one any good to get a tremendous agreement, and not be able to find funding for the ex*****on of the deal…)
Our work in this area takes us across the Country, and we even have a small number of Buyers from overseas. The size of our transactions varies widely, but invariably are categorized as being with small to mid-sized companies. We are also very active in Commercial Real Estate Sales and Leasing. This portion of our service is most often performed in the greater Maryland area. Finally, our Business Brokerage business services were originated from long term Consulting services we have rendered over twenty years, and still perform on a limited basis, today. Historically, our Consulting Clients have been small to mid-sized Businesses; however, we have also worked with much larger companies, up to and including divisions of FORTUNE 500 Companies. Much of our current Consulting has been for the benefit of Businesses being positioned for sale, but we have also worked for other Clients, by referral. On that subject, one of the characteristics of our business of which we are most proud is the fact that almost 80% of our Clients come to us by such referral, from past Buyers and Sellers, as well as Attorneys, Accountants and Bankers. We believe in the profitability of maintaining long term relationships, and these referrals would appear to attest to that belief, as well as the quality of the services we render.
